Resetting your Trading Account password

Posted on: 18 July 2014 , by: Pepperstone Support , category: Secure Client Area

Resetting your trading account password can be done quickly and easily through Pepperstone’s secure client area. This can enable you to change the default password that is provided to you on the account opening to something more familiar or memorable.

In the Accounts page, all your trading accounts will be listed where you can select the black ‘cog’ icon to begin the process. Click on the Cog icon.

On the next page, you will be required to enter your new trading account password. Please note that you do not require the previous password in order to set a new one – being logged in to the client area has already confirmed your identity.

Resetting your password will not log you out of your platform, however if you close the program or disconnect you will need to log in again using the new password to continue trading.

You can have the MT4 platform remember your password by checking the box "Save Account Information" on your login window. In cTrader this is shown as "Remember Password" in the sign in/accounts window. This way you will not need to retype your password.
