National Client Identifier

As part of our application process, you'll be asked to provide your National Client Identifier (NCI). Under the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive or MiFID II, we're required to hold and report this information for transaction reporting.

Frequently asked questions

Do all clients need to provide this?

Nationals of France, Germany, Ireland, Hungary, Austria and Luxembourg do not need to provide us with their NCI number.

All other EEA nationals are required to provide this.

Which NCI number should I provide if I have dual nationality?

For clients with an EEA nationality and a non-EEA nationality, you should provide the EEA NCI number only.

For clients with two EEA nationalities, you should provide the nationality which comes first alphabetically under the 'Country code' column.

How can I find out what my NCI number is?

The table below will tell you what NCI information is needed based on your nationality. If your nationality isn't listed, please provide your national passport number.
