Adding a drawing to a chart (Webtrader)

You can add various drawings to a chart, such as arrows, trend channels and Fibonacci rays. You can also add notes. More than one drawing or note can be added.

Note: In this procedure, the word ‘click’ refers to either a click or a tap.

1. Display the chart you want to add a drawing or note to.

2. Click on the drawings menu icon on the charts toolbar at the top of the chart:

Tip: You can also display a menu of drawing options by clicking at the top right of the chart and selecting Add Drawing from the menu that appears.

3. Select an option from the drawings menu and add it to the chart.

The way to add a drawing varies according to the type of drawing. See Drawing tips below.

Tip: If you decide not to add the drawing option selected, press the Esc key. You can also tap on the screen if you haven’t already started to add the drawing.

Tip: You can move a drawing by dragging it to a new position.

4. To change the properties of the drawing (such as colour, line style, attached labels etc.):

a. Click on the drawing.

b. To change the colour, click on the first option on the drawing properties toolbar and select a new colour.

c. To change the line style (thin, thick, dashed, dotted), click on the second option on the drawing properties toolbar and select a new style.

d. Other properties—which vary depending on the type of drawing—can be selected by clicking the third option on the drawing properties toolbar.

5. To delete a drawing:

a. Click on the drawing.

b. Select trash bin icon on the drawing properties toolbar (or press the Delete key).
