Trading The March US Labour Market Report

4 Apr 2023
As is typical, the first Friday of April brings our latest look at the US employment situation, via the release of the March labour market report. Investors will, unsurprisingly, continue to look for any signs of softness, especially taking into account how resilient the jobs market has been in weathering the 450bps of tightening the Fed have delivered this cycle. Complicating matters, especially in terms of market reaction, is the report being releases on Good Friday, a time when many markets are closed, and those that are open will likely experience very thin liquidity, and low trading volumes.
