Here’s how you can access your Metatrader 4 account on your smartphone in 4 simple stepsOpen the MetaTrader 4 app on your Android phone or iPhone<ul><li>On iOS, tap on the bottom right corner to go to your settings then click on “New account”</li><li>On Android, tap on the three horizontal lines at the top left, select “Manage accounts”, then click on the plus sign “+”</li></ul>Select open a demo account or login to an existing account<ul><li>You can choose to open a demo account or to log in to your existing MetaTrader 4 account. Click on “Login to an existing account”</li></ul>Search for Pepperstone or enter your specific server<ul><li>Tap on the search bar at the top of your screen and search for Pepperstone (where you will find all our servers), or alternatively, enter your specific server</li></ul>Enter your login credentials. You can find your Pepperstone login number on email or through your SCA<ul><li>Once you’ve selected your server, enter your login number and password. You can find these details on the email we sent you or through your Secure Client Area</li><li>You can choose to save your password for easier login the next time you decide to access the MT4 trading software</li></ul>

Here’s how you can place a trade on the MT4 app<ol><li>Opening the trade window</li></ol>From the quotes tab, click on the symbol of choice and then click on trade. For Android users, click on the symbol then click on new order. (Figure 3)This will take you to a new screen where you can see the current bid and ask prices as well as a tick chart of the price.&nbsp;<ol><li>Selecting order type</li></ol>At the top of the page, start by deciding on the order type you want. The default is market execution which will place your order directly in the market. If you would like to place a buy or sell limit order or a buy or sell stop order, please click on market execution and select the order type you want to proceed with.&nbsp;<ol><li>Customizing your order parameters&nbsp;</li></ol>Next, enter the position size that you would like to trade. The default is set to 1 and you can also increase or decrease using the default size adjustments found to the left and right of the size field.Once that’s done, you will have the option to input a stop loss and a take profit.Now that you have added all the missing variables, click on buy or sell to initiate the position.<ol><li>Viewing your positions</li></ol>Now that you have placed a trade, you can view your new position by clicking on the trade tab.

Here’s how you can make changes to your current positions as well as view your trading history<ol><li>Modifying the stop loss and take profit of a position</li></ol>Let’s start by modifying a current position. From the trade tab, click on your desired position. From the menu, click on Modify.&nbsp;For Android, click and hold on your desired position until the menu is open then click on modify order. (Figure 4)Once the new screen opens up, input your new stop loss and take profit parameters. When ready, click on modify to set the new parameters.<ol><li>Closing a position</li></ol>Now, let’s try closing a position. From the trade tab, click on the position you would like to close.&nbsp;For Android, click and hold on the position you’d like to close until the menu shows up.From the menu, click on close. (Figure 4) (Figure 5)Once the new screen is showing, you can close the position by clicking on close with profit or loss. Alternatively, you can close a part of the position by adjusting the size at the top of that screen and then clicking on close with profit or loss.<ol><li>Checking your account history</li></ol>Now let’s check our account history. Click on the history tab. From there, select the timeframe you’d like to view the history for. Aside from the default day, week, and month, you can click on custom and view the history for a specific duration marked by a start and an end date.If you have multiple trades and are looking for a specific one, you can search for the symbol by inputting the name in the search field.For Android, click on the calendar icon in the top right corner and select the timeframe desired or input your own by clicking on custom period (Figure 6). You can also sort by symbol, order, opening time, closing time, and profit by clicking on the opposing arrows next to the calendar icon (Figure 7). Finally, you can filter by symbol or view the history of all symbols by clicking on the Dollar sign.

<h3>How to manage your positions and view your history</h3>

Here’s how you can customize your watchlist by adding, removing, and rearranging symbols<ol><li>Alternating between simple and advanced view</li></ol>Before we show you how to manage your watchlist, it’s important to note that there are two different views: “Simple view” and “Advanced view”. The simple view shows the bid and ask prices of the instruments on your watchlist while the advanced view shows additional information including spread, timestamp, the low and the high of the day.In iOS, and from the quotes tab, you can quickly alternate between the two by clicking on the view of choice in the top middle of your screen.For Android, you can do so by clicking on any of the symbols in your watchlist, and then clicking on the simple view or advanced view mode. (Figure 1)<ol><li>Adding new symbols</li></ol>To add a new symbol, click on the plus sign. From there, you can either search for a specific symbol, or find it by browsing through the categories.Once you click on the symbol of choice, exit the screen by clicking done for iOS or the back button for Android, and you will see the requested symbol at the bottom of the watchlist.<ol><li>Customizing the watchlist</li></ol>Now that we have added a symbol, let’s look at customizing the watchlist further. The pen icon allows you to rearrange symbols or delete them off your watchlist.&nbsp;To rearrange the symbols, click and drag the three horizontal lines next to each one and move to the desired location on your watchlist.To delete a symbol, click the round circle next to it. Once the symbol is highlighted, click on the garbage can icon to delete it.&nbsp;For Android, start by clicking on the garbage can icon then selecting the symbol you are trying to delete by clicking on the box. Once done, click on the garbage can icon again to delete them. (Figure 2)On a final note, it’s worth noting that the full name of certain symbols will vary according to account type.

Here’s how you can customize your charts by applying different timeframes, adding or removing indicators, changing chart type and much more.<ol><li>Opening a chart</li></ol>From the quotes tab, click on the symbol of choice and then click on chart. For Android, click and hold a symbol then click on open chart. (Figure 8)<ol><li>Customizing your chart</li></ol><ol><li>Changing the time frame</li></ol>Let’s start by changing the timeframe. Once the chart is open, click on H1 at the top left. H1 stands for 1 hour. Once you do, you will see a list of different timeframes you can choose from. Select the timeframe you prefer.To do this for Android, simply click anywhere on the chart. A wheel with different options will open up. Select the timeframe you prefer. (Figure 9)<ol><li>Adding indicators</li></ol>Now, let’s add an indicator. To do so, click on the chart. Once the menu opens up, click on Indicators. Alternatively, you can click on the letter f at the top of the chart.For Android, click and once the wheel shows up, click on f or simply click on f at the top of the chart. (Figure 10)At this point, you should be seeing a list of all available indicators (Figure 11). In this case, we will choose relative strength index. Once you click on it, you will be able to adjust a few things including choosing the period, adjusting the style, and adding or removing levels from the indicator window. Once ready, click on done. (Figure 12)The chart will now be displaying the relative strength index at the bottom. Before we move on, you can adjust the size of the indicator’s window by clicking and holding the upper barrier of the indicator window.<ol><li>Adding objects</li></ol>Next is adding objects. To do so, click on the geometric shapes icon at the top of the chart. You can add a new object by clicking on add object or you can select from the default options. For Android, you can do so by clicking on the plus sign icon or once again, selecting from the default. (Figure 13)Let’s go with a horizontal line. After selecting the horizontal line, simply click anywhere on the chart to place it. Clicking on it will select the line which allows you to drag it up and down across the chart.<ol><li>Other features of charts</li></ol>Let’s look at more features. Going into landscape mode allows for a clearer view of the chart. When in landscape mode, you can swipe from the sides to toggle the menus. The left menu contains the different timeframes while the right side menu includes chart types, indicators, objects, one-click trading, and settings.From the right side menu, click on the bars to enable a bar chart or click on the line to look at a line chart. Alternatively, you can go back to candles by clicking on the candles icon.&nbsp;3. Enabling one-click tradingFinally, you can enable one-click trading by clicking on the two attached boxes just above the settings. One-click trading allows you to input the size you would like to trade and place the order directly from the chart. On the first attempt, you will be prompted with a disclaimer and in order to proceed, you need to accept the terms and conditions.For Android, you can change the chart type by accessing the main menu through the three horizontal bars in the top left of any of the tabs and clicking on settings (Figure 14). From there, you can also enable or disable advanced mode, toggle order sounds, and customize colors.
